Two killed in car-bus mishap in Kuala Krai

TUMPAT: Two people were killed and three injured in an accident involving a car and an express bus at Km106.2 of Jalan Kota Baru-Gua Musang in Kuala Krai today, police said.
Kuala Krai District Police chief Supt Ab Rahim Che Ghani said the dead were Safrizal Tarmizan, 31, who had driven the car, and his mother, Asmita Lukman, 56.
Safrizal's wife, Nurul Izati Akmal Mat Lazim, 28, their son Mohd Umar Al Fatah, three, and niece Amirah Syahirah Zailani, six, were slightly injured, he said.
He said Safrizal was heading for Gua Musang and the bus was going to Kota Baru from Seremban when the accident happened at about 5 am.
"Safrizal and his mother Asmita died on the spot. The bus driver and the 32 passengers were unhurt," he said when contacted by Bernama.
He said the two bodies were taken to the Kuala Krai Hospital.
Bus driver Yeop Mat, 51, said the car hit the front right side of the bus before spinning several times. – Bernama
